Resources to strengthen party building, sustainable organizing, leadership development, and a healthy party culture.
The Minnesota Democratic-Farmer-Labor Party (DFL) elects candidates who reflect our shared values, as outlined in our Platform, Action Agenda, Constitution, and Bylaws.
The Outreach and Inclusion Committee, a standing committee of the State DFL Party, advances the Party’s commitment to affirmative action, outreach, inclusion, and accessibility as stated in the DFL Constitution and Bylaws.
The Outreach and Inclusion Committee’s responsibilities include:
developing, reviewing, and recommending the State DFL Affirmative Action, Outreach, and Inclusion Plan;
establishing criteria and guidance for local unit Outreach and Inclusion Plans, and requiring their periodic submission as provided in governing documents;
reviewing submitted unit plans for compliance with constitutional requirements and providing feedback to strengthen outreach and inclusion efforts;
supporting the implementation of affirmative action, outreach, and inclusion requirements across all party units, conventions, and official processes;
advising the State Central Committee and State Party officers on matters related to equitable participation, representation, and accessibility;
promoting meaningful engagement of historically underrepresented communities in party leadership, organizing, and endorsement processes;
assisting in the development of training materials, best practices, and model resources for local Outreach & Inclusion Officers and party leaders; and
monitoring compliance with affirmative action and inclusion provisions contained in the DFL Constitution, Bylaws, and Official Call.
Through these responsibilities, the Outreach and Inclusion Committee ensures outreach is structured, sustained, and integrated into the Party’s organizing and governance framework.
